COPPA Notice for Parents

S.T.E.W.A.R.D. Tutor (operated by SPU Stewardship Holdings LLC d/b/a S.T.E.W.A.R.D. Consulting) is an educational service used by teachers and schools. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and require verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information from a child under 13.

1. Information Collected from Children

When a teacher invites a student under 13 to use S.T.E.W.A.R.D. Tutor, we collect only the minimum information needed to deliver the tutoring experience:

First name (or display name chosen by the teacher)
Grade level
Practice answers and writing submissions
Skill mastery progress and adaptive learning state
Time-on-task and engagement signals (no precise location)

We do not collect: home address, phone number, photos, biometric data, persistent device identifiers, or precise geolocation.

2. How We Use the Information

Student information is used solely to:

Personalize practice and lesson content to the student's level
Track progress and surface insights to the assigned teacher
Generate Socratic AI tutoring responses (text-only)
Apply IEP / 504 / ELL accommodations as documented by the teacher

We do not sell, rent, or share student information with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.

3. Parental Rights

As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:

Review the personal information we have collected about your child
Request that we delete your child's information
Refuse to allow further collection or use of your child's information
Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact your child's teacher or email privacy@steward-tutor.local. You may also use the parent data export endpoint your teacher provides.

Parents can access their child's progress and data via the Parent Portal.
